Create EU compliant wine e-labels in minutes
The easiest way to create EU-compliant digital wine labels. No design experience needed, no expensive agencies required.
What goes on an EU wine e-label?
Since 8 December 2023, wine sold in the EU must show a list of ingredients and a nutrition declaration. Regulation (EU) 2021/2117 lets you move most of this onto an e-label, reached by a QR code on the bottle, which frees up space on your physical label.
- On the bottle label
- Allergens, the energy value (which can be shown with the symbol E) and a QR code that links to the e-label.
- On the e-label
- The full nutrition declaration per 100 ml (energy, fat, saturates, carbohydrate, sugars, protein and salt) and the full list of ingredients with allergens highlighted.
- Not allowed on the e-label
- Marketing content of any kind, tracking of the people who scan it, or charging consumers to view it.
- How Labls helps
- Enter the alcohol, sugar and acid content and Labls calculates the energy value. Every label is translated into all 24 official EU languages and comes with a QR code ready to print.

Labls is an excellent resource to store and share the ingredients information that is now mandatory on wine labels in Europe. It is easy to upload and maintain the information, the QR codes are a piece of cake to generate, and the webpage that customers are directed to is well-laid out and clear.
Labls is by far the best e-label service that I have seen.

- What are e-labels?
- E-labels are the sensible solution to the EU requirement to show nutritional information and ingredients on your wine labels. Read more about the regulation.
- How do e-labels work?
- When a consumer scans the QR code printed on the bottle label they are directed to the corresponding e-label which is displayed in their preferred language.
- When did the EU regulation come into force?
- The legislation came into effect for all wines produced and put into circulation after 8th December 2023.
- Do products produced before 8th December 2023 need e-labels?
- No, any items bottle bottled before 8th December can be sold as is.
- What languages must the e-label be available in?
- The e-label must be available in all 24 official EU languages. We have translations for all in built copy and can add custom translations for your own copy.
- Can I display marketing content on the e-label?

- No personally identifiable consumer information is tracked or stored when they view a label. The country the label is being accessed from and the user language of the device used to access the label is used to display the appropriate translation.
